Professional Development Day

Professional Development Day

Wednesday 13 November, The Edge, Endcliffe Village

There are hundreds of talented people working across the Faculty of Science, with a massive and diverse range of knowledge and experience. We all share the same purpose: to bring in the best students, produce the best research and enhance our world-class reputation. Later this year, staff in the Faculty of Science will be able to break from some of their usual routines and spend a day discovering new ways to get the most out of their work.

Before the event

Registration for the Professional Development Day will open in September. Before that, you can help shape the day by filling in the Pre-event Survey by Friday 30 August with your ideas and experiences.

You can also tell us about your own individual and team achievements, both inside and outside work, which you would like to share at the Development Day by answering the Celebration Of Achievement question.

The Professional Development Day is being held for professional support staff across the seven departments. This is a chance for professional staff - for example clerical staff, administrators, managers and technicians - to get together, develop as individuals and improve as a Faculty.

At the Development Day, you will be able to spend time with colleagues from different departments and disciplines, and learn more about what they do. This will mean, in future, we can draw on each other’s skills and expertise, and cooperate more often in achieving our goals.

You will also get a sense of how your own work fits into the Faculty's vision, and how you are an essential part of its future. You will find out how you can learn new skills, get advice and support, and find new opportunities to help them in their personal and professional development.
