Seat Allocation - July 2012
Your Spring Semester Examination results and degree classification will be released via the myResults portal located on the SSiD web pages. Please note you will not receive any mailing relating to examination results or ceremony details and will need to access them via myResults.
When you receive your examination results via myResults, you will be able to access ceremony information and seat numbers directly from the examination results page. You should print off your seating details for yourself and your guests and ensure you bring this to the ceremony with you. This document will be required to gain entry to the ceremony and will act as tickets for yourself and your guests. No tickets will be issued and no further notification of seat allocation will be sent to you.
You can download a step by step guide by using the link on the right of this page.
There is a specific order of presentation for all candidates attending a ceremony and your seat number has been allocated to denote this. Please ensure that you sit in the correct seat and do not change seats for any reason unless instructed to do so by one of the marshals.
Any queries about your seating allocation should be raised beforehand with the Events Team or on the day of your ceremony at the Enquiries Desk situated in the foyer of the Octagon Centre. Please notify the Events Team of any unwanted guest seats so that they can be re-allocated.
Please note that we do not recommend attendance at the ceremony for children under 5 years old and that children over the age of 3 must have their own seat number and occupy their own seat. All seats are numbered and there will be strictly no admittance to the hall without a print out of your seating allocation.
Please ensure you notify your guests of their seat numbers. If you or any of your guests have mobility difficulties, the Octagon Centre has a lift and appropriate seating will have been reserved if you have given us prior notice.
Doors to graduates only, will be opened 45 minutes prior to the start time of the ceremony. Graduands must be robed and in their designated seat in the hall 40 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
Doors to guests will then be opened approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. Guests must be seated in their allocated seats in the hall 20 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.
Members of the audience are permitted to take photographs or record the ceremony but are required to do so from their seats, and not move around the Hall during the ceremony. Please note there is strictly no admittance on to the platform at any time
The ceremony will also be relayed live to the Auditorium in the Union of Students building via a live video link.
