Research programmes

Our research activities are centred around named programmes.

The concept of "research programme" allows for a fluctuation of activities and memberships around a range of activities relating to the programme theme, particularly bids for funded research.

There are now four programmes:

European Public Sphere Studies (EPSS)

Tourism and Popular Culture in European Society (TOPS)

South East Europe, Europeanisation, Culture + Society (SEECS)

Various (OPEN)

Organising around research programmes enables us to prioritise ESCUS activities in relation to staff interests, as well as addressing relevant research gaps and needs.

The strategy currently gives priority to two research programmes: EPSS and TOPS. The two others, SEECS and OPEN, are treated as secondary priorities for the moment.
