Within the School of English and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities we care about our environment, and strive to make it a better place for everybody who uses the building. As a result of this we will aim to provide you with information on all our green initiatives and information on how you can get involved.

Our energy efficiency work is focused on 2 main strands- Salix (a "revolving" energy efficiency fund), and the Environmental Controls project (a 10-year scheme in partnership with Schneider Electric). The University offers a wide range of schemes which you can get involved in.
Green transport
We encourage visitors to get to the University by public transport. Jessop West is well served by bus and tram connections, located just beside the University of Sheffield tram stop. In adition to this, Jessop West is serviced by Electric Hybrid Buses which are 30% greener than standard buses.

Stamp recycling
We are collecting used stamps (both British and overseas) to raise money for the RNIB. You can drop off any used stamps at any of the receptions on floor 1 of Jessop West.
