Walking
Why Walk?

Most of the University buildings are within short walking distance of each other and the city centre is on the doorstep.
Walking is free, you don´t need any specialist equipment and it´s good for you. Walking can:
- Reduce risk of developing heart disease and stroke
- Help reduce stress
- Help you control your weight
- Maintain good mental health
The current recommendation for physical activity is about 30 minutes a day of moderate activity, such as brisk walking.
You should aim at 30 minutes a day but you don´t have to do them all in one go to start with.
You could walk for ten minutes three times a day or 15 minutes twice a day at first.
