Refurbished EMD Laboratories

The Electrical Machines and Drives research laboratories have undergone a major programme refurbishment over the past year following an award from the Wolfson Foundation. This has involved the complete re-fit of six laboratories, the installation of a containment facility for high-speed electrical machine testing and a central chilled-water system which supplies four laboratories. The refurbished laboratories were formally opened by Sir Eric Ash, a trustee of the Wolfson Foundation, on November 23rd 2009.
