Entry Requirements

Our policy is to accept students from a wide range of different backgrounds, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you are in any doubt about the suitability of your qualifications

If you are studying 'A' levels, our requirements for entry to 1st Year are three good passses in appropriate subjects. These should include Maths and preferably Physics. However, applicants studying Chemistry or Electronics would also be considered. For entry to our MEng. degrees the required 'A' level grades are AAB. For entry to our BEng. degrees we require ABB.

Foundation year Applicants without the appropriate entry education background may enter our degree via one of our foundation year programmes H602 Electronic Engineeering with Foundation Year and H603 Electrical Engineering with Foundation. We also accept foundation year qualification from a number of higher education institutions.

Typical entry requirements for our Foundation Year degree courses H602/H602 are GCE A-levels at ABB (or an equivalent qualification) and GCSE Math grade C or equivalent and GCSE Science grade B or equivalent.

Applicants with certain education backgrounds may be asked to complete a maths exercise. Further information about this can be found here
