Responsibilities
As Departmental manager Heather's job is to manage all administrative aspects of the School of Education in conjunction with the Head of School, Professor Cathy Nutbrown. This varied role includes management and leadership of all administrative and support staff in the School of Education; strategic policy formulation and academic planning; managing the School's budget and financial planning; managing the operational infrastructure of the School and ensuring that it supports teaching, research and administration; assisting with the management of academic staff and advising on personnel issues.
Heather is a member of the School Executive; TILL Academic Planning Group; Chair of the School Finance Committee. She is also a member of the Faculty of Social Sciences Administrators Group.
Biography
Heather has worked in the insurance industry and as a field archaeologist. She joined the University staff as a Research Support Officer in Research and Innovation Services in September 1999, having completed a PhD in Archaeological Science. Heather has managed and lead a range of projects and teams within R&IS, and her last role was Research and Innovation Opportunities Manager for the Faculty of Social Sciences.
