Responsibilities

As Head of Administration it is Jo's job to manage all administrative aspects of the Department of Educational Studies and Institute for Lifelong Learning in conjunction with the Head of School, Prof Jackie Marsh. This varied role includes management and leadership of all administrative and support staff in the School of Education; strategic policy formulation and academic planning; managing the School's budget and financial planning; managing the operational infrastructure of the School and ensuring that it supports teaching, research and administration; assisting with the management of academic staff and advising on personnel issues.

Jo is a member of the School Executive; TILL Academic Planning Group; Chair of the School Finance Committee. She is also a member of the Faculty of Social Sciences Administrators Group and is taking a lead role on Faculty External Relations, supporting PVC Prof Tony Payne.

Biography

Jo joined the School of Education in April 2007 from the University of Leeds, where she worked since 1999 - firstly in the Office of Part-Time Education, where Jo became Assistant Director, followed by the School of Continuing Education as Centre Co-ordinator.
