Research interests
Manjinder´s research interests include `Educational Experiences of Black and Asian Pupils in an Inner-city Comprehensive´; `Academic Achievement in Core Subjects by Ethnicity´ and `Issues in Improving GCSE Mathematics Attainment´.
Working with PGCE students:
Manjinder´s teaching of PGCE Maths students emphasises the need to value cultural diversity in the Mathematics curriculum and accordingly involves group-work and using resources such as Vedic Maths and global statistics from New Internationalist. Her PhD work will include preparing the next generation of mathematics teachers to teach historical and cultural mathematics to pupils in Key Stage 3, as highlighted in the new National Curriculum. This study will involve interviews with PGCE mathematics students, focus groups, diaries, questionnaires and monitoring of classroom teaching.

Manjinder´s current teaching responsibilities lie with the education of Mathematics teachers in the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) programme.
