MA Working with Communities: Identities, Regeneration and Change

This Masters Degree is for those working in the community, or who are in any way involved with community and voluntary organizations and local regeneration projects. It is designed to focus on the challenges facing families and communities you live and work alongside, and will give you a chance to think about how to work with people who feel that they matter less than their contemporaries, to bring about positive social change.
Programme Aims
The programme aims to enable you to:
- Critically explore notions of good professional practice in working with communities;
- Explore ideas, policies, theories and practice relating to work with communities;
- Gain experience of carrying out research based on genuine consultation - that will make a difference and affect positive change;
- Develop skills in reflexive, empowerment led ways of working – so you can work with people in communities on changes they prioritise;
- Acquire theoretical and applied knowledge of contemporary community matters.
