EdD Caribbean Programme
Aims of the course
The EdD Caribbean Programme specifically focuses on education in the Caribbean. It is designed to provide a broad and flexible research-based programme that is relevant to a range of professional and managerial careers. It is not intended to promote a particular orientation towards an academic career, nor is it intended as a specific professional qualification. The primary aims of the programme are to:
- provide a supportive, structured and effective learning environment in which experienced professionals in Caribbean education and related fields are enabled to explore professional concerns within a critical framework, and to undertake original, high-quality independent research.
- promote research-based professional development.
- develop an ability to engage in critical argument and debate about educational policy and practice in the Caribbean.
- raise awareness of the social, historical, political and moral dimensions of education in the Caribbean
The EdD Caribbean Programme is recognised by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago.
