Paul Mosley has a PhD in Economics from Cambridge University. He was appointed Professor of Economics in Sheffield in 1999. Prior to that he held Chairs in Manchester and Reading.
Professional Standing
Paul is the Editor of the Journal of International Development and the General Editor of the Routledge `Priorities for Development´ book series. He has carried out research and consultancy work for a number of organisations including USAID, UNCTAD, World Bank and DfID.
Research Interests
- Impact, and possibilities for reform, of international aid and finance.
- Political economy (especially in developing countries)
- The welfare state and poverty in north and south.
- Market failure in financial markets; microfinance and its applications in north and south
- Economic history (especially in Africa and other developing countries)
