University of Sheffield funding for international students

The International Office web-pages provide details of all sources of funding available to international students. This website also contains useful information for EU students.

The University provides a number of scholarships for international students (not EU) each year. Information on applying will be sent to eligible holders of a place to study on one of our programmes for the following academic year. The deadline for these scholarships is usually 1 July, but you need to be in possession of an offer on one of our programmes by 1 June, so please apply earlier.

Funding your study as a UK student

Students on our programmes often fund their studies with Career Development Loans and/or part time work. We recognise that for most of our students part time work is a necessity and the timetable allows for this, particularly in the Spring Semester. However, we encourage you to apply for all other forms of funding that are available. The University provides information on different ways of funding your study on the Student Services web-pages.

Funding for students from Scotland and Northern Ireland

Students resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may be able to apply for funding for the taught diploma part of any of our masters programmes from the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) or from the local Education and Library Board in Northern Ireland. If you are resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, please ask the admissions tutor about these opportunities, as you will need to apply for a place to study on one of our Postgraduate Diploma courses.
