Faculty of Arts and Humanities Design Competition - Terms and Conditions
- The competition is only open to students who were studying at the University of Sheffield on a degree programme (UG, PGT or PGR) in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities on 12 March 2010.
- Conditions relating to submissions:
a. All entries must be submitted via email in the form of two JPEG pictures of no more than 3MB each. b. Entries must be emailed from your University email account, giving your name and department of study c. Entries must be emailed to the address: artsdesigncomp@sheffield.ac.uk d. Entries must be prepared to the guidance provided in the creative brief for the competition. e. The content of the design should not be obscene, defamatory or in breach of any law or regulation or violate the rights of a third party f. Entries should contain only your own work, not material that you do not own the copyright to or do not have permission to use. You will provide evidence of this at our reasonable request g. The University reserves the right to exclude any design from the competition for any reason h. Your entry must be submitted by 12 noon on Wednesday 28 April 2010 to be eligible i. Entrants must not lobby or canvass panel members, nor engage in any activity designed to influence the decision-making process
- By submitting an entry to the competition, you give the University:
a. Permission for your entry to be used on the University website and displayed on University property b. A non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to republish your competition entry in any format and c. The right to use your name, age, student number and town or city of residence for the purpose of identifying you as the author of your entry and to confirm your eligibility for this competition
- The promoter of the competition is the University of Sheffield, Western Bank, Sheffield, S10 2TN, UK
- You are responsible for the cost of producing and submitting your competition entry
- Winner selection process:
a. A panel from the University of Sheffield will select a shortlist b. The wider staff-student body will be consulted on the short list c. Details of the shortlist and the competition winner will be published on www.sheffield.ac.uk/designcomp - In the event that the winning design is submitted by a group, the value of the prize of £2000 will be split equally between the individuals involved
- The prize cannot be exchanged or transferred by you and cannot be redeemed by you for any other prizes. You must pay all other costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize
- We take no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason
- The University accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize. The University further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to you or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the competition
- The University shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control
- The competition will be governed by English law
