Research Assessment Exercise 2008
In RAE 2008, 70% of the research of The School of Clinical Dentistry was graded as `world-leading´ or `internationally excellent´. We were ranked 4th among the UK dental schools and were one of the top performing departments in the University of Sheffield. Research Fortnight recorded that we ranked 4th in both the quality and power analyses. The research environment of the School was considered to be particularly strong, with 25% ranked as world leading. The sub-panel report commented on the School´s strong research infrastructure and our significant investment in research facilities.
