Departmental PhD Scholarships for UK/EU Applicants
The Department of Computer Science is able to offer a number of scholarships for top UK/EU applicants. The scholarships pay the full tuition fees and provide a bursary to cover living expenses.
How to Apply
Apply using the online application process. When asked to enter details of your funding source, please respond, "Departmental Scholarship".
As part of the application it is expected that you will include a brief description of your proposed research topic. You are encouraged to approach potential supervisors to discuss a possible topic before applying. A list of members of the academic staff with their research interests is available.
Your scholarship application will be processed in two stages: First, your PhD application will be considered by the Department. If your application is successful, you will receive an offer for a place in our PhD programme. Second, if you have indicated that you wish to be considered for funding, your application will be considered by a Funding Panel which meets three times during the year. The deadlines for these panel meetings will be 28 February, 30 April, 30 June. Applications received after the final deadline will be considered if there are funds available. Decisions will be conveyed as soon as possible after each meeting. The criteria are academic qualifications, supporting statements from referees and the quality of the 'research proposal' attached with the application.
