Departmental PhD Scholarships for non-UK/EU Applicants

The Department of Computer Science is able to offer a partial fees scholarships for top international applicants. The scholarships contribute up to £6,500 per annum towards the overseas fees.

As part of the application it is expected that you will include a brief description of your proposed research topic. You are encouraged to approach potential supervisors to discuss a possible topic before applying. A list of members of the academic staff with their research interests is available. You should also include a personal statement explaining why you think you are a suitable candidate for a scholarship.

Your scholarship application will be processed in two stages: First, your PhD application will be considered by the Department. If your application is successful, you will receive an offer for a place in our PhD programme. Second, if you have indicated that you wish to be considered for funding, your application will be considered by a Funding Panel which meets regularly throughout the year. There is no specific deadline for applications but candidates wishing to start in time for the beginning of the 2013 academic session are encourage to apply as early as possible.
