Professor Noel Sharkey wins Academy Award

Professor Noel Sharkey from the Department of Computer Science has received national acclaim for his contributions to a project enabling the public to engage with advanced robotics.

The team behind the Walking with Robots programme, which includes Professor Noel Sharkey and colleagues from University of West England (Professor Alan Winfield, Dr. Clair Rocks, Dr Karen Bultitude) and Sussex University (Professor Owen Holland), were presented with the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering Rooke Medal for its highly effective promotion of engineering.
