Student project wins SET award

Chris Green

Undergrad student Chris Green has won the coveted British Computer Society Award for the Best Information Technology student at the 2009 SET awards.

Chris won the award for his final year project work. Under the supervision of Prof. Roger Moore, Chris developed a system called the eMotion Shuffle which allows users to organise their digital music collections so that music that suits a similar mood is clustered together.

The award was presented to Chris at a ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel in London, hosted by the comedian and broadcaster Fred MacAulay. Chris has given a number of radio interviews, including one to BBC Radio Sheffield.

Other project work by Sheffield students is showcased in our Flickr pool.
