Jenny Horne

Jenny is a PhD student within the Catchment Science Centre based in the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences. In 2003 she graduated from a Master of Biology degree at the University of Bath with first class honours. Jenny's degree included spells as a research technician at IACR Rothamstead working on weed resistance to herbicides and at ADAS Boxworth working on agricultural field trials. From 2003-2005 Jenny worked as a microbiologist with a pharmaceutical company.

Jenny's research interests focus on the ecological quality of riverine environments. She is interested in identifying the numerous ways in which ecological quality can be assessed, and exploring how different definitions relate to each other. Jenny is also interested in whether assessments of ecological quality provide useful information in the scientific context, and in how human use of ecosystems can be successfully monitored and sustainably managed.
