Supervisor workshops
Supervisor training events are planned by the clinical tutor team in collaboration with our neighbouring courses.
The Supervisor Training and Recognition (STAR) programme has been developing as a national initiative over a number of years with a plan for this to be formally adopted by the BPS as an accreditation structure for applied psychology supervision.
There are two forms of supervisor training available:
Initial Supervisor Training Workshops consist of 4 training days, attendance at peer supervision meetings and the submission of a short portfolio of work at the end of the year. The general audience for these workshops is either new supervisors wanting to extend their knowledge and practice, or more established supervisors who want a recap.
Advanced Supervisor Training Workshops take the form of a series of titled workshops. The audience for these events is more experienced supervisors who wish to review their learning in relation to their supervisory practice.
