Our world-class facilities

You’ll benefit from extensive laboratory and workroom spaces, with sophisticated testing and research equipment. Our department has developed and manufactured some of this equipment in-house, as a result of the world-class research we're doing. Our laboratories have specialist facilities for each area – structures, water and geotechnics. Many are dedicated to undergraduate teaching.

We've refurbished our undergraduate teaching laboratories and created four new workrooms to give you the freedom to explore your ideas and develop your technical knowledge.

You'll also have access to the latest innovations in industrial practice. A new Soil Interaction Learning and Teaching Suite in our geotechnical engineering laboratories incorporates state-of-the-art testing systems and the latest geotechnical analytical software. Throughout your degree you'll have access to industry-standard software and benefit from the support of skilled technicians.
