Active Control of Human-Induced Vibration

Dr Donald Nyawako is a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Department and member of the Vibration Engineering Section. He is currently working on an EPSRC research grant entitled "Active Control of Human-Induced Vibration". His research interests are in the area of vibration serviceability and mitigation of human induced vibrations in floor structures, primarily by making use of Active Control, Semi-Active Control and Passive Vibration Mitigation techniques. A huge part of this work includes development of suitable reduced order models for analytical studies, development of suitable vibration mitigation algorithms and experimental trials on real floor structures in the UK.
