Community

People

The CILASS community brings together groups of people from across the University, from academic staff to professional services staff to students, to bring the CILASS vision to fruition.

Project Leaders
Project leaders are taking forward learning/teaching development and innovation projects that are funded and supported by CILASS under two schemes: departmental IBL programmes, and individual IBL projects (IBL Grant Scheme). Project leaders liaise closely with student ambassadors and academic champions to develop and disseminate their innovations.

Student Ambassadors
Student ambassadors play a critical role in ensuring that students, as our key stakeholder group, are genuinely involved in CILASS and have shared ownership of its direction and activities. They work closely with project leaders and provide input into the strategic direction of CILASS from the student perspective.

Academic Champions
Participating departments are invited to identify departmental champions who act as a conduit between the CILASS `core´ and the wider academic community, encouraging and facilitating the engagement of individual staff, the development of project proposals and bids for funds and the adoption of CILASS teaching methodologies.

Partners and commissioned support
CILASS works in close partnership and collaboration with a wide range of professional services departments in the University. The Library is a key partner for CILASS in its information literacy development activities, as is Learning and Teaching Services (LeTS) for specialist expertise in learning technology. We also benefit from their specialist expertise in the dissemination of learning and teaching innovation. Other partners include Estates and Human Resources.

CILASS Buddy Scheme

In Autumn 2007 CILASS established a buddy scheme (a peer observation system). It is an opportunity for project leaders to share the exciting things that they have been doing in their IBL teaching. To find out more, click on the link below.
