Connecting your Windows 7 PC to the Network

Wireless Network

The wireless network at Sheffield is eduroam. To connect your Windows 7 computer:

1. Click the Wireless icon in the System Tray and select eduroam.
2. Ensure the Connect Automatically checkbox is ticked.
3. Click the Connect button.
4. In the dialogue box, provide your username and Remote Access password, then click the OK button.
5. In the Security Alert window, click the Connect button.

If you have lost/forgotten your Remote Access password, this can be reset and emailed to your University email address by using the Computer Account Management facility.

Plug-in Point

You can connect your Windows 7 PC to the wired network using a cable. You will simply need to register your computer as you would for previous versions of Windows.
