The University Print Management Team advises supports and guides Faculties, Departments and Professional Services in their printing activities.

In 2009 a review of how, when and where printing is performed on campus was completed by CiCS. The aim of the project review was to assess how the environmental impact and financial cost of print could be reduced, whilst improving services and technologies available on campus.

The project was The Environmental Printing Review Project; a key recommendation was to establish a University Print Management Team to influence and improve the way print is delivered and managed. Specifically the team aims to:

  • Reduce the University's environmental impact
  • Develop and support best practice in printing activities across the University
  • Effectively manage and advise on printing activities across the University
  • Review and advise on printing equipment and associated resources on campus
  • Reduce the cost of printing
  • Research, trial and employ appropriate solutions and workflows
  • Align printing policies with the environmental objectives of the University
