Getting your UCard
Students
You will receive your UCard when you register at the beginning of term.
If you miss the registration event, you will need to get your UCard from Level 4 in the Information Commons after you have registered. Take your registration statement and some identification.
Staff
You will need to bring one of the following to the Computing Centre:
- letter of appointment
- contract
- passport
- driver's licence
- other photographic identification
If you cannot provide any of the above, please contact personnel who will issue you with a letter confirming your status.
Note: we can only issue your UCard if your period of service record has been activated.
Associate Staff
You are entitled to an Associate UCard if you are:
- Union of Students staff
- a retired member of staff
- an honorary member of staff
- an emeritus professor
- or visiting staff
Honorary Clinical staff
You should either bring or fax a letter of confirmation from the School of Medicine - refer to the UCard handbook for more information.
Retired staff
If you have your staff UCard bring it with you to the Computing Centre. If you do not have a staff UCard you will need to bring an alternative form of ID listed above
Visitors
Visitors to the University who are required to carry identification or gain access to swipe card protected doors need their department to complete the relevant form in order to obtain a UCard.
Contractors
You should contact Property Services who will deal with your application for a UCard.
