Workshop - Computer and Laptop Repair Service

CiCS offers a free computer and laptop repair service based in the Computing Centre.

• For students we will fix software problems and diagnose hardware problems.
• For staff we will attempt to repair all problems but require a SAP order.

Opening hours are from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

We can collect and deliver departmental owned machines. Alternatively, you can bring the equipment in yourself.
We will not collect or deliver student equipment.

• We only charge for parts. However, if the repair is expensive you'll be consulted before we proceed.
• Warranty repairs are not undertaken, and should be referred to the vendor where the equipment was purchased. The exception is that we do have an arrangement with Viglen to undertake warranty repairs on their equipment over six weeks old; up to that time it should be returned to Viglen.
• If you have any passwords set in the BIOS or elsewhere on the system, please supply them with the equipment.
• Note: If it is not too late, back up your data files from your hard disk, as CiCS can't be responsible for loss of data.
