Managed Staff Printing & Photocopying
Aims
A project to follow published HE sector best practice and strategically manage university wide printing, to provide best value, by driving the volume to shared multi function products (copier, printer, fax, scanners – MFP) and central print services. This will reduce purchasing and operating costs and also reduce electricity costs and contribute to the Universities carbon reduction commitment.
Overview
•Start-up: Complete Project Definition, Risk assessment, Stakeholder Analysis (brainstorm), Communication Plan. Benchmarking
• Draw up specification
• Draft Policy
• Conduct Audit.
• Based on the above, tender for a software solution.
• Review tenders and decide on a product.
• Acquire solution, install and conduct Proof of Concept.
• Based on Lessons Leant, conduct a Pilot in one Academic and one Professional Services department
• Modify product based on Lessons Learnt from Pilot.
• Implement incrementally across University. Identify System owners for each department.
