Printing from Windows 7 on Campus to Student Printers

It is very easy to set up your Windows 7 computer to print to student printers. Click the link below to begin installing a student printer. If you are following these instructions from your home address or while connected to resnet you will first need to set up a VPN connection - see the right-hand link. |

Installation steps are as follows:
In the dialogue box that appears, provide your username and password then click OK. The installation will complete and you will be invited to install an additional student printer. Trouble-ShootingiPrint InstalledIf you see any of the following dialogue boxes below you will need to uninstall the iPrint client.
To uninstall iPrint:
You can now repeat the steps under Installing a Student Printer. The printers will be successfully installed and you will not see the error messages. Windows 7 StarterIf you are running the Starter version of Windows 7, which is usually installed on netbooks, you will not be able to print to University printers. Windows 7 Starter does not support the network printing technology used at the University. To confirm whether you are using Windows 7 Starter take the following steps:
If your computer is running Windows 7 Starter you will not be able to print to University printers unless you upgrade to a more feature-rich version of Windows 7. Upgrades are available for below £40 from student software websites. PrintingIf your computer is connected via a plug-in cable or via the eduroam wireless network you can simply select print from any software, choose any of the installed student printers and click the Print button. If you are using a computer at your home address, off-campus, or if you are connected to the resnet wireless network you will need to connect to VPN each time you intend to print - see the right-hand link. Once you are connected to VPN you can then select print from any software, choose any of the installed student printers and click the Print button. |
