Environmentally Friendly Printing
When you do need to print you can make choices to minimise the environmental cost of your printing.
Double-Sided
Save paper by printing double-sided. You can also set your printer to always print double-sided by default.
Multiple Pages per Sheet
Most printers will allow you to shrink pages so that multiple pages appear on each side of paper. Printing two pages per side on double-sided printout will use one piece of paper for four sides of your document.
Use the Right Printer
Networked laser printers are more efficient than individual inket printers and multifunctional printers which combine printers, photocopiers, scanners and fax machines are the most efficient option for departments.
Use Environmentally Preferable Paper
Always use paper from ethical sources, and for draft work and internal paper use low quality lightweight paper.
Large Print Jobs
For large print runs it will be cheaper and more environmentally friendly to use the University Print Service.
