Request and installing new teaching software
If you need teaching software installing on the CiCS Managed Desktop, then:
- Fill in and submit the online Software Installation Request form. Please be aware that there is a cut-off date.
- Your application is reviewed by the Managed Computing Application Group of Academics and CiCS Management.
If your request for software is urgent please note this on the request form.
The use of software on the service is monitored and unused applications will be removed.
Installing applications locally
Departments can also apply for local administrator accounts so software and printers can be installed locally on staff or department owned student PCs.
Please use the appropriate form to apply for an account to install applications locally on the Managed Desktop for computers running Staff and/or Students images - only one account will be issued to each department.
Note: not all software will work locally and could break core installed software on a PC. CiCS cannot provide support in such cases and if this happens you must re-image your computer.
