Creative Media Edit Suite
The creative media edit suite is a comfortable and well-equipped space for creating digital media, located on level 1 of the Information Commons (room B28).
The room contains five Apple iMac computers suitable for producing the following types of multimedia projects:
- Video editing
- Audio editing
- Screencasting (without audio recording)
Facilities
The suite has been designed to allow you to edit digital media files using any one of the computers. The computers can be used by anyone who has a creative media computer account. Each account works directly off a network server and has a storage allocation of 20GB. Only you can see and have access to your project files. User guides are located in the room to help you get started with using the equipment and software.
Material recorded on tape (e.g. miniDV) cannot be used, but can be edited in the creative media production room.
Obtaining a Creative Media Computer Account
To use this facility you must obtain an creative media computer account. Please allow up to two working days to receive your account details.
Each computer account is issued per project basis. The account will expire the day after your deadline date. All files on the account will be deleted. If working in a group, only one computer account is needed.
Booking
The Creative Media Edit Suite can be booked for up to 4 hours by staff and students.
