Microsoft Staff Work @ Home Scheme
Eligible University staff doing University work at home may buy a Work @ Home copy of any Microsoft Campus Agreement software item. You are entitled to use the software at home for as long as the University employs you, and as long as the University remains licensed under the Campus Agreement scheme.
Eligible staff
- have an orange UCard
- and work for the University for more than 200 hours per year
Non-eligible
- Casual workers
- nurses
- ancillary
- retired
- Honorary staff
Students may not use this software, even though the Microsoft labelling says 'Student media'. They can buy Microsoft software for home use cheaply via the Viglen Student Portal (see link).
What's available
Eligible staff may buy the following Work @ Home DVDs from the Computing Centre Reception at £15 each:
- Office Professional Plus 2010
- Office 2011 for Mac
- Windows 7 Professional 32-bit upgrade
- Windows 7 Professional 64-bit upgrade
The software may only be installed on one PC, and the code (inside the packaging) can only be used to install the software twice. For further installations you must buy another DVD.
Since the introduction of this Work @ Home scheme in May 2007, the standard Campus Agreement discs from CiCS, displaying the University crest, may only be sold to departments for use on campus, and must not be taken elsewhere.
