Software not sold by CiCS

If you need a product that CiCS doesn't stock, you must buy it externally.

For one or two copies:
We suggest you follow the links to Pugh computers to explore deals for Higher Education. Students may buy software cheaply via the Viglen Student Portal (see link).

For multiple copies:
For multiple copies, or if you expect to continue buying more of the product, you could discuss the options with Peter Armstrong (p.armstrong@Sheffield.ac.uk). CiCS may be able to help by maintaining a small stock, especially if personal or student purchases are involved.

New centrally-funded licences:
If you feel the product could be of widespread use across several departments, or the whole University, and can make a good case for central funding, please contact Peter Armstrong (p.armstrong@sheffield.ac.uk) to discuss possibilites. Funds for site-licences are limited, and we must be sure that any centrally-funded product will be widely used. Use in a single department would normally be regarded as a specialism.
