Viewing your email on Android
Phones and mobile devices running Android versions 2.2 and 2.3 now come with a free Gmail app pre-installed. The latest version allows you to manage multiple Gmail accounts via the same app.
To configure your Android device you will need to provide your full Sheffield email address. Do not use the abbreviated @shef.ac.uk format.
- For staff and research postgraduates this is in the format firstname.lastname@example.org.
- For taught students who registered before June 2011 this is in the format email@example.com.
- For taught students who registered after June 2011 this is in the format firstname.lastname@example.org.
If your device does not have a Google app you can download it from the link below. Access this page from you Android device then tap the link.
If you have difficulty locating and setting up your Android device for Google Mail you may be able to get advice from the Android Users group in uSpace.
