JAWS reads aloud text that is displayed on the PC screen
Where can I use JAWS?
JAWS is installed on the following computers:
- Information Commons Level 1, on PC 1058
- Western Bank Library, Architecture Collection, on PC 7
- St. Georges Library, on PC 46
Please use headphones so as not to disturb others.
How do I start JAWS?
JAWS is started by following these steps:
- From the Start menu select Programs
- Select JAWS 11.0
- Select JAWS
Adobe Reader
What does Adobe Reader do?
Adobe Reader will read a pdf document out loud
Where can I use Adobe Reader?
Adobe Reader is available on all PCs running the CiCS Managed Desktop. This includes the PCs in the Information Commons, the Library and CiCS Student Computer Rooms. Adobe Reader is also available on staff PCs that are running the Managed Desktop.
Please use headphones so as not to disturb others.
How do I start Adobe Reader?
Adobe Reader is started by following these steps:
- From the Start menu select Programs
- Select Adobe Reader 8
- From the View menu select Read Out Loud
- Select Activate Read Out Loud
The various commands to read, pause and stop are also in the Read Out Loud menu.
