Biography

I attended the University of Edinburgh (1976-1980), studying Ecological Sciences, however I have deviated from this path significantly since then. I have worked in and around the University of Sheffield for around 30 years starting as a Research Assistant in the former Department of Building Science, where I was involved with EC funded projects aimed at developing statistical summaries of solar energy data across Europe for use in feasibility studies. I joined Gable CAD systems in 1985, a technology transfer company linked to the Department of Architecture, and worked on the development of architectural CAD and visualisation software. In 1994 I moved back into the main University and now work in CiCS performing the role described above.
