Responsibilities

Group leader for the ‘Document Management and Student Systems’ team which is one of the five groups which make up the CIS development team within the Technical Services branch of CiCS. This involves the day to day line management of a team of five other programmers as well as undertaking development work my self. The team is charged with ongoing maintenance, development and support of systems such as CIES, Assessments, Online Registration, CRM, Registrations and Student Records, WebCT integration, CIS Security, Conferments Departmental Systems, Graduate Admissions, Online Payments, Programme Structures, Regulations Processes, Student Archiving, as well as the introduction and integration of a document management system
Deputy head of the CIS development team.
Chair of the Java Applications Group.

Biography

I joined the university in 1994 as an Oracle developer within the Student Applications Team which was at the time part of a division called MAC services. Mac services provided support for the development and maintenance of central administrative computer applications. Since then, much time has passed, and there have been various reorganisations and mergers which I won´t bore you with, suffice to say, I am now a group leader within a development team which is over 20 strong.

On a personal note, I like to play backgammon and have recently taken over the use an allotment. At weekends, if I´m not on the allotment, I like to drink wine and play with my bread machine and stick blender.
