Biography
My background originally was is in educational technology but I have been working in computing and with student records since 1988. I moved into the University when the School of Nursing and Midwifery was integrated in April 1995.
On joining the University, I have worked to empower staff to use data and information so they can make informed decisions. I have written and presented at conferences and in other specialists groups on the culture changes needed to be proactive in using information. I have identified where new information sources are required and in many cases, specified and implemented those resources. This includes admissions data archives, teaching quality/student progression reporting and the dissemination of competitor data. I am an active member of the `Heidi National User Group´ and am currently project managing the HESA Re-development Project and the Cognos 8 Migration Projects.
To relax, I compose music, (both classical and popular); play a couple of musical instruments and when no-one is listening, sing.
