Responsibilities
- Produce high quality, creative, graphic design and finished artwork for a wide range of brochures, displays, advertising and other media
- Take design briefs, project manage, and present design concepts to internal clients
- Implement corporate visual identity standards
- To manage own workload in accordance with deadlines and overall team priorities,
as directed by the Graphic Design Manager - Liaise with both internal and external print specialists
- Offer assistance and advice in all aspects of graphic design and reprographics to junior graphic designers
- Work with the design team in implementing and managing the photo library and systems management
- Use ‘camera ready’ documents supplied by the customer to make plastic plates for printing. These require scanning, impositioning and converting to PDF format
- Imposition all computer generated artwork then send to the computer to plate processor,
to create plastic printing plates - Provide holiday cover for the Digital Poster Operative, printing large format posters from customer generated files, laminating and packaging
- Deputise in the absence of the Graphic Design Manager
Biography
I've been at the University for 3 years as a graphic designer in Print & Design Solutions.
I have been employed by the University since early 2004 as a graphic designer in The University Print Service. Prior to joining the University I began my career as a graphic designer in 1991 and have worked in areas of advertising, marketing and packaging design. I have produced work for many blue chip companies both nationally and internationally.
