Biography
Born: Ankara, 1951
BSc: Electrical & Electronic Engineering (London, 1973)
MEng: Control Engineering (Sheffield, 1975)
PhD: Chemical & Process Engineering (Sheffield, 2002)
In 1968, I was one of a handful of students awarded scholarship by the Turkish government to study abroad. So, the next five years were my happy 'hippie' years spent mainly in the west end of London until relocating to Sheffield in 1974 for a Masters degree. At the time, "Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire" was the right place for youngsters of my persuasion. I don't know what happened since, but as you can see I am still here. My personal web pages are at http://dsavas.staff.shef.ac.uk/ and contain various computing and other related tips. However, most of my web efforts go into http://www.shef.ac.uk/wrgrid now-a-days.
