Biographical Sketch

Dr. Taylor obtained his BSc from the University of Bristol in 1970, which was followed by a PhD in 1973. He moved to Sheffield in 1974 to work as an experimental officer, specializing in NMR. He is currently managing the Department's NMR service.

Undergraduate Courses Taught

  • Mathematics for chemists 1 (Year 1)
    The course aims to develop the skills and mathematical ability required for Chemistry. Successful students will, at the end of the course, be able to perform algebraic manipulation, geometric analysis, and basic integration and differentiation
  • Spectroscopic structure determination (Year 4)
    This course provides an understanding of the theory and techniques used in NMR and IR spectroscopy.
