Welcome to the Department of Chemistry, one of the most active centres for teaching and research in Chemistry the UK. We currently offer:
Taught Postgraduate Degrees: MSc in Polymers for Advanced Technologies A 12 month taught MSc course suitable for graduate chemists, physicists and chemical engineers and offering tuition in basic aspects of polymer science, and an extended research project. There will be an opportunity to specialise in one or more advanced technological areas. |
Research Postgraduate Degrees: MPhil, PhD The department typically recruits around 30 new PhD students each year. These projects are funded from a wide range of sources including EPSRC, BBSRC, charities and industry. The majority of these places are open to UK and EU students only. We also welcome applications form international students who are supported by scholarships from their home governments or other funding agencies. |
Taught Postgraduate Degrees: MSc in Science Communication This innovative 12 month taught Masters course is suitable for graduates with a first degree in science or engineering with an interest in developing hands-on skills in Science Communication. The course offers a unique insight both into the needs for communicating science and the techniques and methods required to deliver this. This Masters is taught by experts in their fields from the Faculty of Science and the Department for Journalism Studies. |
