Biography
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Southampton, where I obtained a BSc in Geography (2005). I then moved to Sheffield and joined the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering to complete an MSc (Eng.) in Environmental and Energy Engineering (2006) and then an EPSRC-funded PhD, entitled "Energy recovery from spent mushroom compost and coal tailings" (2009). I am currently working as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Sheffield, conducting theoretical and experimental investigations of thermal processes.
Research Interests
- Thermal treatment (combustion, gasification and pyrolysis) of biomass and wastes
- CHP and energy-from-waste systems
- Pollutant formation, effects and control/mitigation
Current Research Projects
- EPSRC Joint UK-China Network to Investigate the Production of Clean Energy and Hydrogen via Novel Process Technologies
- EPSRC Thermal Management of Industrial Processes
- EPSRC Pollutants in the Urban Environment: An Integrated Framework for Improving Sustainability of the Indoor Environment
