2009 MSc Environmental & Energy Engineering Poster Competition Event

The research project poster presentation for our MSc Environmental & Energy Engineering (EEE) course was held on 28 August 2009 in Mappin Hall, Sir Fredrick Mappin Building, Sheffield University.

Poster prizes were sponsored by the Energy Institute (Yorkshire Branch) and were awarded to the authors of the best posters by Dr Nigel Russell (chairman of Yorkshire Branch, Energy Institute).

Judging was carried out by members of academic staff, department researchers and Energy Institute branch members. The judges were very impressed with the top quality of research work presented by our MSc EEE students. All of the posters were professionally presented and students were given the opportunity to discuss their work with various members of the panel.

The top three MSc EEE prize winners were:

1st Prize: Mr Alireza Sadeghi, Poster Title: New Polymer Colloid Microstructures via an aerosol spraying route

2nd Prize: Miss Andreina Bolivar, Poster Title: Production of heat & power from mushroom compost & coal slurry: Plant efficiency & cost analysis

3rd Prize: Mr Payam Malek, Poster Title: Sustainable production of Hydrogen

The course director, Professor Sharifi thanked the Yorkshire Branch for supporting the event and congratulated all students including the prize winners on their excellent research work.
