The Artistic Side of Science

Robert Bachmann's image of 'aquabacterium commune aggregate' was one of 12 winners in the Scientific Art competition organised by the University's Kroto Research Institute.

Staff and students submitted 51 entries of which 12 have been chosen to be turned into posters for display in the Kroto Research Institute and the Nanoscience and Technology Centre. A CD with all submissions will be played in the foyer for visitors to enjoy. This competition was established in 2006 and will be held annually.

Robert was an MSc as well as a PhD student in this Department and now works as a post-doctoral research associate in the Biological and Environmental Systems Group under supervision of Dr. Robert Edyvean.
