Student Jobshop

Open: Monday – Friday 10am – 3pm except Tuesday 11am-3pm (Hours vary during vacation periods)
Location: The Jobshop is run by the Careers Service and located in the Students Union on the main University campus.
Whether you want to advertise a part-time job, vacation work, summer internship, placement or voluntary work then the Student Jobshop is here to help! As long as your vacancy abides by our "Policy for the Promotion of Employers and their Opportunities" then we are happy to help publicise your opportunity to our students.
The Jobshop is a fast, FREE way of advertising your vacancies to thousands of students. All vacancies appear on our online vacancy service with local part-time jobs also being displayed in the Jobshop window for extra publicity. Jobs can be offered on a temporary or permanent basis, to fill a gap at short notice or meet an impending deadline. We do advise students on full-time courses to work no more than 16 hours per week during term-time.
A number of our students remain in Sheffield over the University holidays, particularly during the summer, and are keen to find work experience to help them make the most of their vacation.
To submit a job opportunity to the Student Jobshop, please use one of the following options:

Degrees with Employment Experience
The majority of our undergraduate courses now offer students the chance to benefit from a year long placement as part of their degree.
A year long placement can provide your organisation with a number of benefits including the opportunity to gain fresh ideas and enthusiasm from a motivated individual, access their up to date technical knowledge & skills plus it is cost effective.
To find out which degree programmes offer students the opportunity to benefit from a placement year as part of their course, please contact Claire Brooke, Student Placement Officer on 0114 2220962 or email placements@sheffield.ac.uk
