Attending a Recruitment Fair

Participation in Fairs is a very effective way of getting your message across to the student population. At Sheffield we organise a range of events designed to bring students into contact with employers. Events that take place throughout the year include:

Part-time Jobs and Volunteering Fair

Our Student Jobshop will be hosting a job fair in conjunction with Sheffield Volunteering on Wednesday 5th October 2011. This Fair is free to attend and is open to employers wishing to promote part-time, temporary, casual or seasonal jobs, or engage volunteers.

Sheffield Universities Recruitment Fairs

Sheffield Universities Recruitment Fairs (SURF) is a partnership between the Careers Service at The University of Sheffield and the Careers and Employment Service at Sheffield Hallam University to develop and deliver a programme of collaborative recruitment fairs. They include:

Engineering, Science and IT Fair: Tuesday 1st November 2011.

Aimed at those seeking an engineering, science or IT related career, the target audience for this Fair comprises final year undergraduates, postgraduate students, graduates looking for graduate jobs and students in earlier years seeking work experience.

Business and Finance Fair: Wednesday 2nd November 2011

This Fair is aimed at students and graduates interested in a business, finance, HR, marketing, sales, insurance or management related career. It is an excellent opportunity to promote your graduate jobs, internships and placement opportunities.

Modern Languages Fair: Wednesday 16th November 2011

This departmental Fair is an opportunity to engage exclusively with students from our School of Modern Languages and Linguistics.

Summer Experience Online Fair: 30th January to 4th May 2012

Running throughout Semester Two, this online event will highlight a range of opportunities (travel abroad projects, gap year expeditions, vacation and voluntary work), as well as providing a resource centre packed with information to help students prepare for their summer and stay safe. It is targeted at students in all years of study and at pre-entry students joining in September 2012.

Spring into Jobs Fair: Wednesday 7th March 2012

Targeted at final year undergraduate and postgraduate students who are graduating in the summer, this Fair provides an excellent opportunity for graduate recruiters who are looking to complete their 2012 recruitment or fill any immediate vacancies.

Summer Graduate Recruitment Online Fair: 11th to 22nd June 2012

This Summer Fair gives you one last chance to make contact with students and graduates in Sheffield before they graduate.

Sheffield Legal Fair

Taking place on Wednesday 23rd November 2011, this is an information event aimed at law and non-law students interested in joining the legal profession after graduation. Over 60 organisations participate in this event which is attended by over 550 students and graduates.
